Cross of Vidar - Stuck on Black Screen Pre-Mission

As soon as "start game" is clicked and the storytelling scene prior to starting the mission should begin, the screen goes black and the music gets choppy. This is new since August 30th 2023 and appears to be a problem with every mission.
Running OSX Ventura 13.5.1. Not sure about OpenGL vs DirectX, I'm launching from GOG--I tried launching from the Start_game.command file and still got the same outcome.
Happens in both windowed and fullscreen every time the mission is launched.

Note--the story advancement USED to play but I had the bug where the mission gets stuck in the first cutscene (https://northgard.featureupvote.com/suggestions/480233/cross-of-vidar-chapter-4-mission-gets-stuck-in-the-first-cutscene)

Can you provide me more information please ?

- Are you talking about the Cross of Vidar story or Rig's Saga ?
- And which mission are you starting ?

This comes up with the opening cinematic for every mission for Cross of Vidar. Rig's Saga seems to work just fine still.

I noticed the issue with Chapter 4 - Cantivic, but it appears to suddenly be a problem with all of the Cross of Vidar missions. As I mentioned in the initial submission, the bug seems to be with the cinematic story advancement cutscenes pre-mission. This hasn't been a problem in the past--prior to ~August 30th the cinematic opening before the Cantivic mission (and all the other missions) played correctly.
