Conquest Mission - Lost without Losing?

I lost a conquest mission where I was to befriend the Jotunn; I received a notification that I had lost the mission due to all Jotunn camps being defeated, but at the end of the game, all three camps were alive and well. See image below for end of game screenshot. Not sure what happened? So far as I can tell, the Jotunn were never attacked.

1.) Conquest mode - I was Clan of the Kraken on the very 1st mission of the conquest.
2.) OS - Windows 11
3.) Ran the game with DirectX
4.) Haven't tried reproducing the bug, didn't want to try the mission all over again tonight.
5.) Attached screenshot below.
6.) Couldn't pull the map seed, mission had ended already. :(
7.) Don't think the save file is applicable?

Hey Cameron,

The rule of the conquest is not clear we need to change it, you can lose if another faction befriend the Jotunn before you.

So you need to be the first to befriend them or kill IA that is going to befriend them to not lose the mission.
