De-selection of buildings/units when a popup occurs

When trying to build something, upgrade something, issue commands etc, and a popup occurs like another clan getting an achievement or an attack occuring, your selected units or builds are de-selected. I understand it doing this if under attack, but it occurs whenever something pops up in the top left like someone finishing a special building or another clan reaching a goal.
