Unplayable in any mode after Bifrost launch (iMac)

Now (after Bifront was added) the game doesn't respond properly with either of the 2 launch options. In the"play Northgard" option, the game loads, but none of the menus/game modes responds to being clicking. To even exit the game to the game menu, I have to simultaneously depress Command+Q. I also have to do this to quit the game, and to exit to the desktop. Same happens with the "Play Northgard Fail safe option. Sometimes Steam shuts down entirely after I exit the game with Command+Q. Thank you for any assistance.
